Born in Delhi and completed Higher Secondary education from Government School in Sarojini Nagar.Did B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT delhi in 1972.
Professional career includes assignments at prestigious Government and Corporates.Atomic Energy, Xerox, HCL Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Group which he joined in 1994 and held leadership roles in India and overseas.Vinod was an integral part of Bharti Airtel groups core top team which transformed the mobile revolution of our country. Superannuated from Bharti Airtel as Director and CEO in 2014 and since 2019 is associated with Rotary.
Got Married in 1980 to Indu who has had her education in Himachal and Chandigarh.She holds degrees in MSC and M Ed.She was a Lecturer in Una Himachal prior to marriage after which she moved to Delhi. She too is a Rotarian since 2025 and fully engaged in community service.
They have one Son Aditya who is engineer, MBA and married to Nishtha a Lawyer by qualification.Vinod and Indu have Two grown up Grandkids, Abheer 18 and Ambreena 15.
